YMCA Class Descriptions

Morning Cardio: This class is a great combination of cardiovascular activity. Between the use of step and floor aerobics, you will receive a very invigorating workout. Following a cardio time of 25-40 minutes, there will be muscle toning using free weights. This is a great workout to get going for the day! Don't forget your water bottle! Class is already in progress.

Y-Waves: If you love the water and love a fun workout, then this class is for you! Y-Waves is a combination of cardio, muscle strengthening, endurance, flexibility and body composition. This class uses the water and resistance weights for your workout intensity. Class is for ages 18-80, male or female and all shapes and sizes!! Class meets at the Holiday Inn. Morning class: M/W/F 8:30 AM, evening class: T/TH 7:00 PM. Classes start the week of Sept. 22.

Y-Spin: A fun and exciting way to get a good work out. Instructor driven course, but feel free to set your own pace! Just make sure you work up a good sweat! Classes start Oct. 13. More evening classes will be announced.

Tae Kwon Do: Tuesday classes are geared more to children ages 6-11. Thursday classes are especially geared to adults and children ages 12 and up. Call Instructor Lyle Lurz for any questions concerning classes at 760-1851. Classes start Sept. 2.

Morning Yoga: This beginner’s class will stretch your body through a series of yoga poses. This class will increase your flexibility, balance and range of movement. Breathing exercises and relaxation will also reduce your stress. More classes will be announced.

SilverSneakers®: Muscular Strength & Range of Movement (New class for older Adults) Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Classes start in September.

Belly Dancing: Come get a good workout and at the same time dance your heart out! This class is a great way to end your evening. Classes will start in the fall. Exact time and date TBA. Wear comfortable clothing. Classes start September 2.
Members and Guests

The YMCA continues to strive to meet the needs of our members. We want to offer late workout sessions (8:00pm to 10:00pm) for those who are interested in making reservations at the counter or by phone (notification needs to be at least 2-hours in advance).our staff are more than happy to accommodate your request, however if you schedule time and are a “no show”, you will not be allowed to take advantage of this offer again!!!
